What does it take to do this? Well, the gallery is built in what they call an "XML text file." Of course knowing a little (well actually a bunch) about Flash, Action Script, and website content building, doesn't hurt either! I was able to append the gallery and set it up for launch.

"Shut" is the latest pastel drawing done on January 13th 2011 depicting the infamous Side Street Cafe that I patronized for 15 months from 2009 to 2010. The people there I truly did care about. They had their moments. Hell, we all do. But the food there was fantastic and a waitress there named Emily was a fox. (An added benefit for the eyes, that's for sure). Then one day the owner (out of no where) decided to close the place after nine years of business. Do you know how much hassle it is today to get a beer and wine license? I just shook my head in disbelief when I heard the news. Why not sell it? Why not let the folks there run the place? Leave, go away, but to close the place down like it was located in Deadwood around 1910 is just plain old stupid.

Eyvind Earle...Honestly I didn't know who he was but I immediately (after seeing his paintings in the cafe) found out. He apparently had some work at Disney doing the backgrounds for Sleeping Beauty. Hence...Sleeping Beauty in the pastel drawing. I think I nailed her cartoonish appearance and got her expression just right for the mood of the piece.

Funny...when you read about Eyvind you can see a guy that was not only a great artist but must have had some stories to tell with the fact that at one time he bicycled across America long before it came into vogue by some idiot teenager escaping the "pressures" of his free handout life by riding across the U.S. Eyvind has been in many shows and I think the fact that his work was on display at Side Street gave his work "Life."

As an artist, that has plenty of time to create more, it hits me deep to think this avenue for those to discover Eyvind Earle was dealt a "stake through the heart" (at BEST) when the place decided to just blow out of town like a F'ing tumble weed.

Oh well. On to an another adventure. But for those of you that like to drop everything...watch out! Karma has a big way of proving it exists. Big time.

Mortgage Aid

I am offering this T-Shirt of "Mortgage Aid" for a $45.00 donation. What does the donation do, you may ask?

It simply is a way for me to generate income to build my dream art studio so I will have space to accommodate the various other works that will be fairly large and can not be housed in my spare bedroom or my disaster area in the garage where I now am relegated to oil paint. Please help in any way you can.
